Playhouse Merced is sad to report that a significant amount of equipment was stolen out of the Playhouse earlier this month.
We join Merced Shakespearefest in our shock over the recent theft of such valuable equipment from both non-profit organizations that bring arts entertainment to our community.
We are currently working with the Merced Police Department on this issue, and would like to thank them for all of their help thus far.
If anyone has any information about the recent thefts from either Merced Shakespearefest or Playhouse Merced, we hope that you will provide that information to Merced PD.
We would like to thank everyone for their support, and we hope to see you in the park enjoying some Shakespeare and at the Playhouse enjoying a play very soon.
We very much appreciate our community’s concern and support during this troubling time.
The David Zacharias Fund stands as a lasting tribute to David Zacharias, a cherished former Playhouse Board President, an ardent advocate for the performing arts, and an active and valued member of the Merced community. Established by David and Holly Zacharias to honor their enduring love for the arts and our community’s youth, the David Zacharias Fund aims to ensure that financial barriers never stand in the way of anyone’s desire to explore and grow through theater arts. Through generous donations and community support, the scholarship fund has opened doors to children and adults to participate in a wide array of Playhouse Merced’s theatre arts education programs, upholding David’s legacy of inclusivity and those having a passion for the arts.
Supporting the David Zacharias Fund will enable us to continue the Zacharias family vision, offering transformative opportunities in the arts to all, regardless of circumstance. To date, the Playhouse has awarded scholarships to over 1,324 performing arts students. Some students have continued their performing arts education, performing on stages throughout the country.
Help us keep the stage lights shining bright for every aspiring artist in our community by donating to the David Zacharias Fund.
